Prague, Czechia guitarist and composer Kamila Csenge turns modern instrumental jazz into an expansive meditation on fear, transformation, compassion, and discovery with her debut album Behind the Universe. the seven-song collection looks beyond physical space to examine the unexplored territories within human experience. Csenge's background gives the project substantial musical grounding: after studying jazz and classical guitar at Prague's Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, she earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the John LaPorta Award for outstanding achievement.

Behind the Universe unfolds like a continuous journey through unfamiliar emotional landscapes. Its opening composition, “The Void,” establishes that direction immediately, using shifting meters and contrasting tonalities to explore a state existing beyond simple optimism or despair. The movement from emptiness toward a brighter major tonality gives the piece a sense of emergence, suggesting that stillness can become the beginning of renewal.

That philosophy continues through “Against the Wall,” where resistance becomes a necessary part of creating change. “Music Forever” turns inward toward the modern music industry, questioning the growing distance between artistic expression and commercial expectations while ultimately defending music's ability to survive trends and business cycles. The ensemble surrounding Csenge adds further dimension to her compositions. Guitarist Yamirah Gercke, bassist and double bassist Kateřina Vacková, and drummer Ivo Hermanovský contribute to a sound built around interaction rather than ornamentation.
