O.W.T.O. Revives the Joy of Live Soul on “This is Amazing featuring Uyai Akpan”
O.W.T.O. brings its commitment to musicianship and feel-good songwriting into focus with “This is Amazing featuring Uyai Akpan,” a release built around an uncomplicated but valuable reminder to appreciate the good things in life. Rooted in the warmth of old-school Motown and soul, the track continues the Leeds-based project’s blend of familiar musical character and fresh creative energy, inviting listeners to reconnect with the pleasure of a strong groove and an uplifting message.
The song’s central idea is particularly relevant in a culture that often directs attention toward problems, pressure, and what remains unfinished. Its encouragement to remember life’s positive moments gives the release a purpose beyond entertainment. O.W.T.O. places appreciation at the centre of the experience, making room for a more hopeful perspective without turning the message into a lecture. The addition of vocalist Uyai Akpan brings another dimension to the collaboration, placing the featured performance within a project that values musical expression and emotional connection.
O.W.T.O.’s identity is closely tied to the creative direction of Dr P. A. Francis, a musician whose career spans live performance, studio recording, television, film, and stage productions. His professional experience includes work connected with artists such as B.B. King, Amy Winehouse, and James Brown. Having developed from a drummer into a writer, lyricist, producer, and arranger, Francis brings a broad understanding of performance and composition to the project.
That background informs O.W.T.O.’s emphasis on live instrumentation and the interaction between musicians. The project describes its approach through the phrase “Grooves and Tunes,” highlighting the importance of rhythm, melody, and playing that retains a human touch. Its Motown and soul influences provide a recognisable foundation, while the contemporary songwriting keeps the sound connected to present-day listeners.
The release also follows a growing catalogue that includes “Don’t Push It,” “Tell Me in the Morning,” and “Make A Change.” The first two reached finalist status in the World Songwriting Awards, while the project has attracted UK and US radio airplay and favourable critical attention.
With “This is Amazing featuring Uyai Akpan,” O.W.T.O. reinforces its musical identity through positive songwriting, soulful influences, and an appreciation of authentic performance. The track’s message is simple but worthwhile: recognising what is good in life can change how we experience the moment we are living in.
