ERICKOSCAR Unearths Faith, Service, and Hope in ‘A Glimpse of Glory (Country)’

ERICKOSCAR brings a lifetime of musical experience and personal faith into “A Glimpse of Glory (Country),” a country-rooted song built around a simple but demanding idea: our struggles do not have to prevent us from becoming a source of love for somebody else. Written as a prayer to God, the song approaches spirituality through service, humility, and the willingness to bless others even when life itself remains unfinished.

The story behind the song is inseparable from Erick Oscar’s relationship with music. Born in Panamá and living in the United States for more than three decades, he has carried influences from both cultures while spending much of his life traveling through Latin America. His musical vocabulary consequently stretches far beyond country, touching ballads, salsa, merengue, bachata, flamenco, vallenato, mariachi, reggaeton, and pop. Yet country music has a particular emotional pull for him because of its rawness and directness.

The song does not present faith as an escape from difficulty. Its message recognizes that people carry their own burdens while still possessing the capacity to offer compassion. There is something quietly challenging in that perspective: helping another person does not require having solved every problem in your own life. That honesty is central to “A Glimpse of Glory (Country).”

Erick’s musical history adds considerable depth to that message. His father introduced him to love songs and ballads during childhood, while more than 35 years playing acoustic guitar with his church worship band gave him a long-standing connection between music and spiritual expression. With more than 1,200 songs written over the years, he has developed an instinct for using songwriting as a way to process experience and communicate from the heart.

His recent work with music-production software has expanded that creative process, allowing him to build instrumentation, arrangements, tempos, and vocal performances independently. “A Glimpse of Glory (Country)” therefore feels like another chapter in a lifelong conversation between faith, songwriting, and human connection a song ultimately concerned with turning personal struggle into an opportunity to give something meaningful to others.
