"REBOUND // IGGY" by SIR-VERE - A Double Dose of Electro Rock Grit that Groove EP

SIR-VERE have arrived and gone one better with their AA-side EP REBOUND // IGGY, a sneak preview of what to expect from an upcoming ROCKtronicS album. In two teleologically different tracks, SIR-VERE continues to push the lines that demarcate rock from electronica from rave.

"Rebound" is a synth-laden, glistening anthem, imbued with a sense of industrial pop grit that could be compared to Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails blended. With sharp programming and moody atmospheric touches, the lyrics explore the emotional and physical whiplash that can happen going from relationship to relationship, whilst still communicating longing for a previous lover. SIR-VERE frontman Craig White's agitated and sincere words stay in that messy middle ground of emotional immediacy while leading the listener somewhere that is not chaos. Crucially, the production from Gary Morland also provides a club-ready sound that deserves mainstream radio-play potential.

On the flip side is "Iggy", which shakes off the previous track, with swagger of its own. Trading in the devil-may-care programming and mellowness of the preceding tune was backed up by live drums and bass. While the song pays homage to the raw energy of Iggy Pop, it adds a contemporary indie dance vibe to its catchy trajectory; stylish, muscular, and cool sensibilities abound - a sonic salute to punk rock heritage wrapped gracefully with SIR-VERE's electro, rock, and rave expertise.

REBOUND // IGGY exposes SIR-VERE’s continued evolution and shows fans what’s to come with ROCKtronicS. For fans of alt-dance and electro-rock fusion, this EP is a hard-hitting, genre-blurring statement that deserves to be played on repeat.
