“Adrenaline Slip” by Textbook Maneuver: A Sonic Journey Through Space and Self Album

Textbook Maneuver is the creative pseudonym of composer and electronic artist Michael Keane. Adrenaline Slip, a debut release, is a 12-track album that transcends established genres and provides listeners with a deeply immersive sonic experience. Keane combines his training on classical piano with ambient color and progressive electronic forms. The result is a piece of music that feels cinematic, personal, and expansive.

From the outset, Adrenaline Slip feels introspective, then expands outward to a layered sound world filled with melodic motifs that carry emotional tension. The album’s highlight is the four-part “Space Walks” suite, which excels in both scale and ambition. “Tell Them I’m Not Here (Still in Outerspace)” and “Re-Entry” deliver a haunting sense of existential solitude, giving the sense of what it is to be an astronaut floating halfway between the stars and the Earth.

The album has two short interludes (entitled “Murmur”) that act as a passage of meditation and a way to help guide the listener from one thematic space to another. This dynamic creates structural coherence and moves the album from mere playlist to telling a more cohesive narrative.

With Adrenaline Slip, Textbook Maneuver is a uniquely visionary composer, merging technical precision with true emotional heft. This is headphone music for the heart: a soundtrack for the void, stillness, and everything in between.
