Eddy Ruyter's Album “Neue”: A Cinematic Soundscape of Emotion and Elegance

Toronto-based pianist Eddy Ruyter has, along with cinematic composer Ross Christopher, created a stunning sonic journey with their new instrumental album labelled “Neue.” Clocking in at seven emotionally packed tracks, Neue represents a vast landscape of deeply intimate sound that is also decidedly cinematic, as Ruyter compliments his evocative piano melodies with lush string arrangements.

Neue is about emotionally telling a story without any spoken word. Ruyter's piano work has a fluidity reminiscent of the most liquid movements you could imagine; he has curated each note to bring a listener into a reflective space. The depth of Christopher's violins and cellos takes you from quiet reflection to swelling crescendos of intense emotion.

What makes Neue so impressive is that it's both timeless and experimental. The textures are rich, and the arrangements are unpredictable but seamless.

They are sounds that you want to revisit, as there is always a new layering and depth to the emotion and soundscape of sound.
